How the Faith Temple Web site reach beyond the Walls

With a lack of new members in the age range of 18-35, the Church must mobilize to bring those in that want or can’t make the drive to stay alive.  Our connection to NetMinistry makes it easier.

I came to Faith Temple Newburgh about four years ago with the intent of assisting Pastor John put an evangelistic plan together, using the skills that I had learned over the last thirty years as a deacon and youth advisor with several Missionary Baptist Churches.  I was given 90 days permission by my former pastor with the intent to returned to my church.  I had not asked my wife or any of my friends or family members to come along with me.  This was God’s call for this time in my life.  I found myself in the middle of a development process that could take anywhere from three to five year to completely make an impact in the community and the lives of people.  I found people were  tire of the ho hum type of service, just coming out of habit with no intent of receive personal salvation.  The says in his word that his people will perish for lack of a vision, so much chaos and the vision wasn’t real clear to those expected to follow. On my first day of my involvement at Faith Temple Newburgh, I felt the ministry of deliverance at a level I was never able to experience before.  Some where someone truly needed to experience this flow from heaven.  My reason for leaving my establish position in an established church for once was being revealed to me.  God was showing me through my involvement that the word had to go abroad and in the utmost parts of the world.  Most of our member were transient and were not destined to physically be with this ministry.  Some were broken and were recovery from an unhealthy condition in life (jail, drug, prostitution, alcohol, gambling, pornography and sexual sins.  Our charge was to provide healing to each situations and bring about ways to heal even after they were no longer with the Faith Temple family.  I asked God to help us build a website that would continue to feed our member until they could connect with a home church in the cities that they were relocating to.  I did not have the training to make this happen and I began to look for someone to assist me in this endeavor.

I spent several nights and days trying to find the tool to go into the homes and be able to use from the long spoon and continue to make a healthy church thru the use of a website. The people we serve may not have faced a national crises but the health was not good.  Faith Temple through Pastor John established a Social Concerns to help those that surround the ministry seeking help.  They are searching for someone who cares.  For I found, “that most people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”  Most of the people that would come were downtrodden and an outcast to the society that they are a part of.  To make this ministry work it came to the point where mi for a year there was no emphasis on tithing or money in the early stages.  Our mission was and still is to bring them in, build them up and send them out to serve.  The message is going out in the world through referrals by members

But, there just aren’t enough membership resource.

Evangelism need to let sources such as NetMinistry to assist in  creating a new website for this effort, to a joint command center for the nourishing online relief efforts in this city and beyond.

  • We are releasing a involving our Youth Dept developing a website within the next month give youth an alternative site such as my Space.
  • Faith Temple  is using the Registered Visitors tool to catalog individual and organizational needs, resources, prayer requests, testimonials and online share of sermons to those who can’t attend and more.
  • We  will be using our mass e-mail system to send updates and solicitations to all of their contacts catalogued by the system
  • We are creating new reporting systems to help reconcile needs and offerings and decision making as related to this data within the Registered Visitors tool.

Please pray for me and especially for Faith Temple ministry.  As a part of the B J Watkins District Evangelist Department we need willing workers (you) to get involved, and/or to invest in the effort, visit http://www.faith-temple-newburgh.org. Currently, there is no President of the District Evangelist Dept.  But we continue using the website to assist the District Evangelism Department with its Outreach efforts. We need the support of churches and ministries to make an impact for Christ.

God’s Blessings,

Minister Al Dennis
